Hotels in Sri Lanka are categorized from one to five stars. There are unclassified hotels in addition. Some of the country's most beautiful hotels are found along the southern coast. Those described as Guest Houses are very simple with just a few rooms. It is also possible for tourist to rent rooms in small private facilities. Hotels known as Rest Houses do not fall into any specific category and depending on the management they may vary in service quality. Most of them are in particularly nice locations.
