Germany is the second largest of Sri Lanka's European investors with over 170 approved projects. Many of the German enterprises that operate in Sri Lanka are global leaders in their field of specialization and investment areas include apparel, hosiery, knitwear, surf sails, textiles, electronic products, light and heavy engineering, rubber based products including tires and automotive parts, coir products, wooden and soft toys, chemicals and dyes, gems and jewellery and tourism.
