INTRODUCTION

Under the “Mahinda Chinthana” programme of the Government of Sri Lanka, a new scheme called “Nipayum Sri Lanka” (the 300 Enterprises Programme) was launched with the purpose of taking development to rural areas outside the Colombo and Gampaha districts.

The agency that has been entrusted to administer and implement Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 EP is the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), which is the investment promotion arm of the Government. The BOI is managing this important programme having more than 25 years of experience of serving the investor community.

To process the prospective investments in an efficient and timely manner, the BOI has set up a 'One Stop Shop' on the 19th floor of the World Trade Center. This office houses all the officials who need to be consulted in order to move a project from the stage of application to that of approval. All the necessary approvals can thus be obtained at just one place the BOI One Stop Shop.

Investors are welcome to call the BOI One Stop Shop for further information on how to set up a project under the Nipayum Sri Lanka programme. Useful information such as the criteria for investment approval, details of sector wise minimum Investment, Employment, Tax Holidays, export requirements and other necessary instructions are included in this publication.
